integrative therapy for emotional eating.

Hi, I’m Martin, a qualified Counsellor/Therapist who specialises in emotional eating, anxiety and depression

I know how overwhelming it can feel when food becomes a way to cope with stress, sadness, or difficult emotions. I’ve been there myself, and it was through my own journey—and later training as a therapist—that I was able to find a healthier, kinder relationship with food and with myself.

I believe emotional eating is never really about the food itself. Together, we can explore the root causes—whether that’s stress, self-esteem, unresolved experiences, or deeper patterns—so that you no longer have to rely on food as a way of coping. My approach is gentle, supportive, and tailored to you.

I work integratively, drawing from CBT, Person-Centred, and Psychodynamic therapy, depending on your needs. This means we can combine practical tools for managing cravings and emotions, with space to explore the underlying issues in a safe and compassionate environment.

If you’re ready to understand yourself more deeply, reduce the hold emotional eating has over your life, and move towards lasting change, I’d love to support you.

Friendly, approachable, and down-to-earth support—because you don’t have to go through this alone.

WHAT IS COUNSELLING?

Counselling is a supportive and understanding space where you can explore your feelings, thoughts, and behaviours with a compassionate qualified counsellor. Many people turn to counselling for emotional eating because it addresses the deeper root causes behind their relationship with food, rather than just focusing on weight loss through quick fixes like injections. I believe that true change comes from understanding yourself better and working through underlying issues, which is why I offer counselling as a gentle alternative. Having personally struggled with emotional eating and unhealthy food habits, I know how challenging it can be. But through therapy, I’ve grown stronger, empowered, and more in control of my relationship with food. I am here to support others who are in the same boat, and I’m passionate about helping you find healthier, lasting ways to nourish your mind and body. Together, we can work towards a positive change from the inside out.

Aims of therapy

The goal of therapy is to help you gain a deeper understanding of your emotional triggers and develop healthier coping strategies. Through counselling, you can achieve greater self-awareness, improved emotional regulation, and a more positive relationship with food. You will learn to identify and address underlying issues such as stress, anxiety, or past experiences that may be contributing to emotional eating. Ultimately, therapy aims to empower you to build a balanced and sustainable approach to food and emotions, leading to a happier, more confident you. Together, we can work towards a positive change from the inside out.
