Frequently Asked Questions
What should i expect in counselling?
A confidential, supportive and non-judgmental space to discuss your thoughts, feelings and emotions, with the guidance of a therapist who really understands daily struggles. I will not offer direct advice however i will walk along side you in your therapy journey. You will lead the way, setting your own goals at your own pace. The first session usually involves assessment questions to understand your situation. Whilst therapy can be quite challenging and emotional, it can also be fun and i believe i get the best out of my clients when they look forward to the session rather than dread it.
How many sessions do i need?
It’s entirely up to the client how many sessions they want, usually I would suggest we aim for 8-10 sessions with a review session around week 4. However there is no limit to the sessions.
How long are each session?
Each session is 45mins long.
Have you [Martin] every been in therapy yourself?
Yes, as part of my training i received personal therapy sessions on a bi-weekly basis and still on going now. I believe it’s a great way to grow and continue developing yourself. I am truly grateful to my therapist.
How much does the coaching cost?
Our coaching fees vary based on the program selected and its duration. For detailed pricing and packages, please refer to our “Pricing” page or contact us directly for a tailored quote.
Do you set any homework each week?
Depending on the clients circumstances and whether it feels appropriate i may set some home based tasks, usually these are quite small tasks, we will only set this if the client feels happy to, it’s nothing that is forced upon a client and it’s absolutely fine if the “dog are their homework”
How often should I get counselling?
It’s entirely up to the client, this is usually discussed in the free consultation before starting the sessions. I would suggest once a week, usually fixing a time and day every week, but i understand this not possible for everyone whether it’s financial difficulties, family commitments, work schedule etc., so I flexible with this and can be discussed in our initial call.
